What is Data Base? |
A collection of logically related data is called database.
For example, the telephone directory, your personal address book, dictionary
etc. are examples of databases. A database contains data or informations about
a particular topic such as:
- Database of employees that
contains data of employees of an organizations or department.

contains data of students of a college university ets
A database a may be created and maintained manually or it
may be computerized. Library card catalog is an example of a database that is
created and maintained by hand. Mechanized database is created and maintained
by a list of agendas. This set of programs is called database management
system.
Generally, database is a collection of logically related
data sets or files. Each data set of file may contain different kind of
information that is used for specific purposes. For example, a bank maintains
different types of information for its clients in separate files such as:
- Saving Accounts
- Current Accounts
- Automobile Loan
- Personal Loan
- Client Information etc.
The Client database of a bank may include records from all
